NVIDIA expands DGX Spark AI platform with new 64GB memory version

NVIDIA has announced a new 64GB unified memory version of its DGX Spark desktop AI platform, designed for generative AI and large language model (LLM) workloads. Despite having half the memory of the original 128GB model, the starting price has increased to $4,999, which is $1,000 more than the initial launch price of the 128GB version. NVIDIA attributed these shifts to global memory supply constraints.

The 64GB configuration is intended to facilitate the deployment of “Agentic AI” across various enterprise sectors, including manufacturing, finance, and healthcare. While the reduced memory limits the capacity to running models with up to 100 billion parameters, users can connect two units via high-speed networking to achieve 128GB of memory and support models with up to 200 billion parameters.

Several major manufacturers are preparing to release products based on this platform. Taiwanese companies including Acer, ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI are all developing hardware around the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell superchip. MSI is positioning its EdgeXpert for departmental deployment, while Gigabyte is introducing the AI TOP ATOM 64GB version. Other partners include Dell and HP.
