Nvidia expands into AI agents, robotics, and data center infrastructure

At the GTC 2026 conference in Berlin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a strategic expansion of the company's business scope, moving beyond semiconductor supply into AI agents, robotics, and integrated data center infrastructure. To accelerate deployment, Nvidia introduced ‘DSX POD’, a system that allows data center equipment to be pre-assembled and verified in factories. This method can reduce on-site installation times from six months to as little as 14 days.

Nvidia is also advancing its ‘Physical AI’ capabilities, including the ‘Agile 1’ humanoid robot model scheduled for release in early 2026. The company's ‘Hyperion’ autonomous driving platform is expected to be integrated into vehicles from Volkswagen, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar Land Rover.

To support this growth, Nvidia is strengthening its supply chain through partnerships with major component manufacturers. Samsung Electro-Mechanics will co-invest with Nvidia to expand production facilities in Sejong and Busan, focusing on high-speed network package substrates for AI semiconductors. Additionally, LG Innotek has unveiled sensing solutions, such as multi-modal vision systems, that utilize Nvidia’s Holoscan Sensor Bridge (HSB) technology to enable faster data processing for autonomous vehicles and robotics.
