NVIDIA GPU market faces high prices and potential product delays

The retail market for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card has seen extreme price increases. In Poland, prices have surged to approximately 30,000 PLN, with some premium models reaching 35,000 PLN. This represents a massive jump from the original suggested retail price, which was initially around 10,299 PLN and later lowered to 9,100 PLN. The price hikes are attributed to component shortages and limited availability of simpler models, leaving only expensive, high-end variants on shelves.

Concurrently, reports indicate that the next generation of consumer graphics cards, potentially named the GeForce RTX 6000 and based on the Rubin architecture, may be delayed until 2028. Industry insiders suggest that NVIDIA and AMD are prioritizing high-margin AI chips over gaming hardware. This shift is compounded by high DRAM memory costs, declining PC sales, and full production capacity at TSMC.
