Nvidia joins Reactor’s Series A funding round

Nvidia and Sapphire Ventures have joined the Series A funding round for Reactor, a San Francisco-based startup specializing in infrastructure for real-time generative video and world models. This investment brings Reactor’s total funding to $74 million.

Reactor provides a developer platform, including an SDK and API, designed to allow companies to integrate world models into their own products. The company’s platform aims for high performance, targeting over 60 frames per second with latency under 40 milliseconds. This is achieved through a proprietary inference engine, a global GPU cloud, and a streaming layer.

The startup, co-founded by CEO Alberto Taiuti and CTO Bryce Schmidtchen—both former technical leads on Apple’s Vision Pro—targets two primary sectors: media and entertainment, such as Hollywood studios and streaming services, and physical AI and robotics. Reactor maintains partnerships with AWS and research labs like Overworld.
