LG Group expands AI data center infrastructure footprint

LG Group is expanding its presence in the AI data center infrastructure market through strategic partnerships and technical certifications. LG Electronics has completed its liquid cooling lineup, including 600kW, 1MW, and 2.5MW Coolant Distribution Units (CDU). Its 2.5MW CDU has officially obtained NVIDIA DSX Ready qualification, a certification for components meeting the requirements of the NVIDIA DSX AI Factory design.

Simultaneously, LG Energy Solution has become the only South Korean battery company to join the NVIDIA DSX Ready program. Its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), specifically the JF2 AC Link, has been qualified to support AI-driven power demands through features like AI load smoothing, voltage ride-through, and grid-forming capabilities. The company aims to reach over 50 GWh of LFP battery cell production capacity in North America by the end of 2026.

Furthering its infrastructure ambitions, LG has established a strategic partnership with Microsoft to cooperate on AI data centers, AI transformation, and physical AI. This collaboration seeks to provide integrated solutions covering cooling, power, and IT infrastructure. Additionally, LG Electronics is collaborating with SK Enmove to develop next-generation eco-friendly refrigerants and immersion cooling technologies to enhance thermal management efficiency in high-density computing environments.
