NVIDIA releases Linux driver 615.71.09 with Reflex support

NVIDIA has released driver version 615.71.09 for Linux x64, introducing several key updates for gaming and enterprise workloads. A major addition is the out-of-the-box support for NVIDIA Reflex via the VK_NV_low_latency revision 2 extension. This allows Vulkan-based Windows games running through Valve’s Proton compatibility layer to benefit from reduced input-to-display latency without manual intervention.

The update also addresses critical issues for the Blackwell GPU architecture, including a thread divergence bug in nested CUDA kernels and visual artifacts related to GPU display scaling. For enterprise users, the driver now supports the Linux kernel’s cgroups mechanism, enabling administrators to partition and hard-limit VRAM for containerized workloads.

Additional improvements include support for the VK_EXT_cluster_acceleration_structure extension to enhance ray tracing efficiency, stability fixes for Wayland users, and a new kernel-module option designed to reduce idle power consumption in multi-monitor setups by lowering VRAM clocks.
