Nvidia restarts RTX 3060 production as memory shortage drives prices up

Nvidia has resumed manufacturing its GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, responding to a global shortage of high‑bandwidth memory that has driven up component prices. Partner brands such as Asus, MSI and Gigabyte are already shipping new units, with U.S. launch prices around $340 that have risen to $416 and above, exceeding the card’s original MSRP.

The RTX 3060 remains popular among PC gamers, regularly topping Steam’s hardware surveys, and is praised for solid 1080p‑1440p performance with DLSS. However, newer alternatives from AMD and Intel—such as the Intel Arc B580 and Radeon RX 9060 XT—offer higher performance at lower prices, making the 12 GB RTX 3060 less attractive on a price‑to‑performance basis. In the Czech market, the only genuinely new 12 GB model is the ASUS Dual RTX 3060 V2 OC Edition, priced near 9 000 CZK, while competing GPUs provide comparable or better performance for less money. The resurgence of the RTX 3060 highlights ongoing supply‑chain pressures in the PC hardware sector.
