NVIDIA RTX 50 GPU Prices Surge in China as GDDR6/7 Memory Costs Spike

In China, the cost of GDDR6 and GDDR7 memory modules has jumped dramatically, with DRAM prices rising up to tenfold. The surge in memory prices has forced NVIDIA and AMD to raise the retail prices of their graphics cards sharply. NVIDIA's RTX 5090D 32 GB now costs more than double its previous recommended price, and the RTX 5080 has crossed the $1,500 mark. AMD Radeon cards have risen 14–29 %.

Wholesale channel prices for the RTX 50 series have also jumped, with the RTX 5070 series up 800 yuan and the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB model up 600 yuan in a single week. The price hikes stem from upstream DRAM suppliers increasing their quotations for GDDR6 and GDDR7, prompting manufacturers and distributors to adjust their pricing rapidly across the Chinese market.
