NVIDIA RTX 5080 GPUs receive new power solutions from MSI and GIGABYTE

MSI announced a limited‑time promotion that bundles a PCIe 5.0, 1000 W, 80+ Gold power supply with any purchase of its GeForce RTX 5080 graphics cards from the official site, valid through 31 August. The included PSU features the 12V‑2×6 connector required for the high‑power GPU.

GIGABYTE introduced a redesign for the 12V‑2×6 connector on its new AORUS RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti Infinity and RTX 5070 models, moving the connector from the PCB into a metal block attached to the backplate and cooler. The change aims to improve mechanical stability, reduce stress on the PCB and potentially aid thermal management of the power contacts, addressing long‑standing reliability concerns for high‑draw GPUs.
