Nvidia RTX 5090 prices surge in Taiwan as premiums reach up to 122%

Taiwanese retailers posted the latest pricing for MSI's entire RTX 50 series, showing that the flagship RTX 5090 32 GB liquid‑cooled model now sells for NT$159,990‑179,990, compared with Nvidia's suggested retail price of NT$71,990 – a premium of 122%. Across the lineup, premiums range from 45% for the entry‑level RTX 5060 to 67% for the RTX 5070 Ti, reflecting the recent 10‑20% price increase announced by Nvidia for its GDDR6/GDDR7 memory kits. The higher‑end cards use 8 GB more GDDR7 than the lower‑end versions, and the cost of 16 GB GDDR7 modules has risen from about US$80‑90 to US$200‑300, a jump of over 200%, which manufacturers have passed directly to consumers. The price spike sparked a surge in assembly orders, with Taiwan’s components distributor reporting a doubling of orders for the upcoming week, especially for the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5070 Ti models.
