NVIDIA RTX Spark and Qualcomm Snapdragon impact on Windows on Arm
NVIDIA is expanding its influence within the Windows on Arm ecosystem through RTX Spark, which integrates its Blackwell graphics architecture, CUDA ecosystem, and AI expertise. This development, supported by collaboration with Microsoft, aims to bolster developer interest and local AI capabilities on Arm-based PCs.
While Qualcomm has established a foundation for Arm-based Windows laptops with its Snapdragon X-series processors, NVIDIA’s entry brings significant industry clout that could encourage more native application development. This ecosystem growth may benefit the platform as a whole by increasing the number of developers building for Arm.
To manage software performance on Snapdragon Windows laptops, users can address compatibility issues by installing native Arm64 versions of applications, updating Windows to ensure the Prism emulator is current, or adjusting emulation settings within the app properties.
