NVIDIA RTX Spark platform launches with local AI laptops and DLSS 5 updates

NVIDIA and Microsoft are launching the RTX Spark platform, a new ecosystem designed to enable high-performance local AI workloads on Windows PCs. A key hardware component is the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra, which features an Arm-based Grace CPU and Blackwell RTX GPU. This device can support up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5X memory, allowing it to run large language models with up to 120 billion parameters locally. Other manufacturers, including ASUS, are also releasing RTX Spark-powered hardware, such as the ProArt P16 and P14 laptops, which offer similar high-capacity memory and AI performance.

Alongside the hardware launch on October 16, 2026, NVIDIA is rolling out significant software updates. The DLSS 5 technology is being optimized with a new 3D-Guided Neural Rendering model that is twice as fast as previous versions and reduces VRAM consumption by 20% at 4K resolution. Game support for DLSS 5 is expanding, with NBA 2K27 seeing performance gains of up to 1.4x, and updates scheduled for Hogwarts Legacy on November 5 and Where Winds Meet later in the month. Additionally, NVIDIA is releasing new local AI models, such as Nemotron 3.5 Bolt, and expanding developer tools like RTX Remix to support the new platform.
