Nvidia secures exclusive SpaceX partnership and expands financial ties
Nvidia is solidifying its dominance in the artificial intelligence hardware market through strategic partnerships and evolving financial structures. During a SpaceX earnings call, Elon Musk announced that the company has decided to build exclusively on Nvidia hardware, citing the Vera Rubin architecture as the best AI computer available.
While many major tech firms like Microsoft, Meta, and Alphabet utilize a mix of both Nvidia and AMD solutions to manage supply constraints and diverse workloads, SpaceX is opting for an exclusive partnership. This follows a pattern seen at Tesla, which also utilizes Nvidia hardware for its autonomy stack.
Financially, Nvidia’s relationship with its clients has become increasingly integrated. The company has extended longer payment terms to investment-grade customers and holds significant equity stakes in other firms, with its investment book rising to approximately $94 billion. Notably, Nvidia has agreed to guarantee up to $105 billion in lease payments for an OpenAI affiliate’s data-center campus in Ohio, provided the site exclusively hosts Nvidia hardware.
