Nvidia reports $96.2 billion Q2 revenue amid surging AI demand

Nvidia reported massive second-quarter revenue of $96.2 billion, representing a 106% increase year-over-year. The growth was primarily driven by a 117% surge in data center sales, which reached $89 billion. The company provided an optimistic outlook, projecting fiscal 2028 revenue growth of approximately 70%, significantly exceeding previous analyst expectations.

Despite the strong financial performance, Nvidia management noted that the company is currently supply-constrained. To address future demand, Nvidia's supply commitments rose from $119 billion to $279 billion in a single quarter, largely to secure memory components. The company also announced an expanded partnership with Amazon to deploy two million additional processors and reported plans to acquire the AI platform Hugging Face for $12.9 billion.

The company's blowout results helped propel the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 higher, reinforcing investor confidence in the ongoing artificial intelligence infrastructure boom.
