Nvidia, Toyota deepen partnership to expand AI robotics and autonomous vehicle tech

Nvidia and Toyota have expanded a collaboration that began in 2017 when Toyota selected Nvidia’s Drive PX platform for its autonomous‑driving systems. The partnership now covers next‑generation vehicles running on Nvidia’s DRIVE AGX Orin hardware with the safety‑certified DriveOS operating system, delivering advanced L2++ driver‑assist features.

Beyond cars, Toyota is using Nvidia’s Isaac Sim and Omniverse tools to create digital twins of its factories, allowing engineers to program and test robots in simulation before deployment on the production line. The Toyota Research Institute is also employing Nvidia’s Cosmos foundation‑model platform for robotics research. Additionally, Toyota’s Woven subsidiary is developing AI‑driven smart‑city traffic solutions with Nvidia GPUs and multimodal vision models.

The broadened alliance aims to extend physical AI from vehicles to industrial robots and intelligent infrastructure, positioning both companies at the forefront of the emerging AI‑powered robotics market.
