NVIDIA Vera CPU rumors debunked as specs remain unchanged
NVIDIA has detailed its new Vera server CPU, built around the in‑house Olympus Arm core and featuring an 88‑core monolithic die, up to 1.5 TB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 164 MB shared cache. The announcement sparked online speculation that the platform would be "downgraded" to a lower‑capacity memory configuration of 768 GB using 96 GB modules instead of the advertised 1.5 TB with 192 GB modules.
NVIDIA clarified that the change reflects a different SKU rather than a performance downgrade. The company said it continuously optimizes compute, networking, and memory to deliver the best efficiency, and that the Vera CPU still supports the full 1.5 TB memory configuration. Early independent testing of the Olympus core has shown strong performance, suggesting the hardware itself meets the original specifications despite the rumor‑driven confusion.
