NWSL standings update: Gotham FC leads as season enters final third

As the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) enters the final third of the season, Gotham FC holds a significant lead at the top of the standings with 44 points after 21 matches. The team remains unbeaten in nine consecutive matches, bolstered by a league-low 13 goals allowed.

In upcoming league action, Bay FC is scheduled to host the Houston Dash on August 23, 2026. Bay FC enters the fixture struggling for form, having earned only one point from their last five matches. Conversely, the Houston Dash arrive with momentum following consecutive victories against Chicago Stars and North Carolina Courage.

Other league developments include San Diego Wave maintaining pace with Utah Royals, and Kansas City Current securing a draw against Seattle Reign FC via a penalty kick. The race for playoff positions intensifies as teams move past the 20-game mark.
