NXP Semiconductors announces new automotive and industrial hardware

NXP Semiconductors has introduced new hardware solutions targeting automotive infotainment and industrial applications. The company announced the SAF9800, an automotive infotainment processor designed to consolidate AM/FM radio reception, audio processing, and sound separation into a single chip. This integration aims to simplify system configurations by replacing multiple discrete components. The SAF9800 features AI-driven sound separation capabilities, allowing it to isolate voice commands, mechanical anomalies, or emergency sirens from ambient cabin noise. It includes a HiFi 5 audio DSP and a Biquad filter hardware accelerator, providing over ten times the audio processing performance of previous generations.

Additionally, NXP launched the FRDM-IMX95-PRO, a compact development board based on the i.MX 95 application processor. The board is equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory, 32 GB of eMMC flash, and features high-speed connectivity including 10GbE, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. It includes two M.2 Key-M slots for SSDs or AI accelerator cards and is intended for use in robotics, industrial networking, and vision processing applications.
