NXP Semiconductors reports quarterly revenue of $3.8 billion

NXP Semiconductors has reported third-quarter financial results that exceeded market expectations. The company posted adjusted earnings of approximately $4.2 per share on revenue of roughly $3.8 billion, surpassing the consensus estimates. This performance follows a trend of the company beating earnings and revenue estimates for four consecutive quarters.

A significant driver of this growth is the automotive sector. Quarterly automotive revenue exceeded $2 billion for the first time, representing a 17 percent year-on-year increase when excluding its divested sensor business. The company’s software-defined vehicle portfolio is currently generating more than $1.5 billion in annualized revenue, moving toward a $2 billion target for 2027.

CEO Rafael Sotomayor noted that the industry shift toward zonal and centralized computing architectures could significantly increase the company’s chip content per vehicle. NXP expects its S32K5 shipments in China to begin as early as the first quarter of 2027, with full-volume ramps for key platforms expected by 2028.
