NXT Mobility opens electric truck charging park in Alkmaar

NXT Mobility has opened its first NXT PowerPark in Alkmaar, providing dedicated charging infrastructure for electric heavy-duty trucks. Located at the Boekelermeer industrial estate, the facility offers a scalable solution for transport companies facing challenges such as limited grid capacity, space shortages, and fire safety requirements.

The site initially features 18 charging stations, with plans to expand to a total of 36. To ensure security and operational efficiency, the park includes access control, camera surveillance, and heat detection, specifically designed for safe charging during evening and night hours. The facility is powered by green energy, with direct links to wind turbines and solar parks.

This opening follows a broader trend in the Netherlands, with similar charging hubs for heavy transport appearing in locations such as Dedemsvaart, Oudewater, and Schiphol Trade Park.
