NY Police Seek Suspects in Queens Officer Stabbing and 4th‑July Gang Assault
An off‑duty 30‑year‑old NYPD officer was stabbed on Bell Boulevard in Queens early on July 22. He was treated at NewYork‑Presbyterian Queens Hospital and listed in stable condition. The NYPD released images of two male suspects – one in a white shirt and grey pants, the other in a blue shirt and multicoloured shorts – and asked the public for tips.
On July 4, a violent clash at the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City injured five people, including a 13‑year‑old girl, a 14‑year‑old boy, two 18‑year‑old women and a 46‑year‑old woman. One of the 18‑year‑old women was stabbed in the neck, others suffered head injuries, facial injuries or were pepper‑sprayed. Police issued surveillance photos of four suspects – described as dark‑complexioned individuals wearing various clothing – and offered a reward of up to $3,500 for information.
