Nyamira County police investigate multiple fatal incidents

Police in Nyamira County are investigating several violent incidents involving fatalities in the region.

In Ekenawa Village, 67-year-old Alfayo Misuko Aremba was shot three times in the hip with a suspected AK-47 rifle during a late-night attack on August 25. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Ekerenyo Sub-County Hospital. Investigators are looking into long-standing family disputes as a possible motive.

In Gekano Sub-location, 60-year-old Charles Osoro was allegedly killed by his brother during a land dispute. The suspect reportedly struck Osoro on the head with a hoe while he was ploughing his farm. The suspected weapon was recovered in a nearby banana plantation, and a suspect has been taken into custody.

Additionally, authorities are investigating the death of 69-year-old Modesta Kemunto Isaboke, whose body was found with visible injuries near her home in Ogango Sub-location. A postmortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
