Nyasa Big Bullets chase league lead as coach Wedson Nyirenda wins June award

Nyasa Big Bullets sit third on the FDH Bank Premiership table with 20 points, one point behind leaders Mighty Wanderers and level with Silver Strikers. A victory over Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium could lift the team to the top of the league, at least temporarily. Assistant coach Heston Munthali, covering for head coach Wedson Nyirenda, said the focus is on improving the team's attacking play and warned the match will be challenging.

Wedson Nyirenda, head coach of Nyasa Big Bullets, was named the FDH Bank Premiership Coach of the Month for June. He earned the award by guiding the Bullets to a perfect record in the month’s two league matches, surpassing nominees Enos Chatama (Ekhaya), Abbas Makawa (Civil Service United) and Peter Mgangira (Silver Strikers). The accolade includes a cash prize of MK 500,000 (ZMK 5,350).
