NYC Mayor Mamdani Misspells Detective Carroll’s Name Amid Police Shooting and Hiring Freeze

Detective Robert Carroll, a veteran NYPD officer and father of three who was set to retire in ten days, was shot in the back while seated in an unmarked patrol car in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, on July 5, 2026.
