Ünye community celebrates breast cancer survivor Yasemin Tekler Günaydın

In Ünye, Ordu, local non-governmental organizations and community members held a pink balloon release event at the Ünye Pier to celebrate Yasemin Tekler Günaydın, who has successfully completed a year of intensive treatment for breast cancer.

Led by the Ünye Rotary Club with support from the Ünye Tailors and Hairdressers Chamber of Craftsmen and Artisans and the Ünye Choirs Association, the event also served to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Participants released hundreds of pink balloons to highlight the critical importance of early diagnosis.

Günaydın, a 39-year-old bank employee and mother, shared her experience, noting that she initially overlooked early symptoms. She urged others not to delay medical check-ups due to work or family commitments, stating, “There is an excuse for everything, but there is no excuse for health.”
