Ünye shooting: Man killed and nephew wounded in family dispute

A dispute over land and road access in the Ünye district of Ordu resulted in a fatal shooting between two brothers. The incident occurred on Eğrimeşe Street in the Yiğitler neighborhood.

According to reports, 72-year-old Cemal Ç. engaged in an argument with his 67-year-old brother, Ali Ç., which escalated into violence. Cemal Ç. opened fire on Ali Ç., killing him at the scene. During the shooting, Ali Ç.’s son, Ümit Ç., was also struck by bullets and wounded.

Emergency services and the Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) responded to the scene. While medical teams confirmed Ali Ç.’s death, Ümit Ç. was transported to Ünye State Hospital for treatment. Local authorities and a public prosecutor have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
