APC unveils 2027 campaign council including opposition leaders

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a revised Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 general elections, signaling a strategy of broad political inclusion. The council, headed by President Bola Tinubu, incorporates several prominent figures from opposition parties.

Notable appointments include FCT Minister Nyesom Wike (PDP), who will coordinate the campaign in Rivers State and the FCT; Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo (APGA), appointed as coordinator for Anambra; and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke (Accord), named coordinator for Osun. The council also features Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda as vice-chairmen.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari will serve as the Director-General. Other key roles include Deputy Director-Generals such as Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The council is scheduled for inauguration in Abuja on Wednesday, October 14.

Political analysts and party officials have described the move as a historic attempt to build a government of national unity and a broad coalition to secure a second term for President Tinubu, transcending traditional partisan divides.
