Nyla Rose criticizes Oklahoma commission and addresses AEW absence

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose has addressed her prolonged absence from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) television and her ongoing dispute with the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission (OSAC).

Rose expressed frustration regarding her lack of television time, noting that while she continues to wrestle on the independent circuit, she desires more opportunities to entertain within AEW. She also addressed the 2023 controversy involving a Ring of Honor match in Oklahoma City where she, a transgender woman, competed against Alejandra Lion. Rose criticized the OSAC, calling the commission ‘hateful bigots’ and describing it as a ‘scam’ that uses loopholes to target performers.

Rose expressed significant gratitude toward AEW President Tony Khan for his public support during the dispute. She noted that Khan stood by her ‘with zero hesitation’ and acknowledged the importance of his stance on the ‘right side of history’ despite his high-profile position. Additionally, Rose recently responded to online harassment from a social media user, criticizing the individual for sending abusive messages.
