Nymburk Mayor refuses to resign following NCOZ police raid

The Mayor of Nymburk, Mach, has refused to resign following a police raid conducted by the National Center for Combating Organized Crime (NCOZ). During a municipal council meeting, Mach stated that he was detained at his residence and subsequently underwent house searches. He clarified that he has provided detailed explanations to the authorities and was released without being charged with any crime.

Mach maintained that the police actions were related to his official duties as mayor. The investigation is reportedly linked to municipal contracts involving a swimming pool, a winter stadium, and a gymnasium. While the opposition has characterized the situation as serious, the council did not hold a vote to remove the mayor or the city leadership.
