NYPD officers ambushed during domestic violence call

The New York Police Department released body camera footage documenting an ambush on officers during a domestic violence investigation.

Officers Joseph Murphy and Christopher Wells had accompanied a woman to her residence to assist her in collecting belongings after she reported abuse at the 105th Precinct. While the situation initially appeared calm, 41-year-old Rondell Goppy allegedly opened fire on the officers inside the home. The footage captures the sudden transition from a routine assistance call to a deadly shootout.
