NYPD officers shoot woman following alleged double stabbing

New York City police officers shot a woman on Monday afternoon after she allegedly stabbed two people and advanced toward officers while wielding two knives. The incident occurred near West 43rd Street and Seventh Avenue at approximately 4:30 p.m.

According to officials, the suspect, described as emotionally disturbed, reportedly stabbed a man and a woman before fleeing toward an NYPD substation. Officers initially attempted to stop the woman using a taser, but she continued to advance with the weapons, prompting them to discharge their firearms.

The suspect and the two victims were all transported to hospitals. The current medical conditions of the victims and the suspect remain unknown. Authorities stated they do not believe the incident is related to terrorism.
