NYPD seeks suspects in theft of Yorkshire Terrier in Queens

The NYPD is investigating the theft of Chanel, a 10-year-old female Yorkshire Terrier, from a front yard in the College Point neighborhood of Queens. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on September 17 near 130th Street and 14th Avenue.

Surveillance footage reportedly shows two individuals in a 2014 Subaru Forester attempting to coax the dog toward their vehicle. When the dog did not immediately approach, the suspects allegedly picked her up and carried her to the car before driving west on 14th Avenue.

The owner, 47-year-old Claudia Jaramillo Lopez, stated that the dog was taken during a brief moment when she had stepped away from the yard. Authorities are seeking information regarding the suspects or the vehicle involved. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers.
