NYPD union calls for CCRB overhaul after investigator's KKK comments
The NYPD’s Detectives’ Endowment Association (DEA) has called for the city to ‘clean house’ at the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) following the discovery of controversial social media posts by an investigator.
CCRB investigator Amadee Bility reportedly made a 2020 Facebook post comparing police officers to the Ku Klux Klan. The post stated, ‘The reason u don’t see cops shutting down KKK rallies is the same reason u don’t see hannah montana and miley cyrus sitting in the same room.’ Bility also shared a photo of a man in a police uniform kissing another man with a caption referencing the January 6 U.S. Capitol riot.
DEA President Scott Munro stated that the union will not allow detectives to interview Bility, arguing that her posts demonstrate a hatred for police. The posts were removed from Bility’s Facebook page after the DEA reported them to the CCRB.
