NYSC Director General emphasizes strategic communication and agribusiness

Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has issued directives to enhance the organization’s strategic communication and promote agribusiness among corps members.

During a public relations workshop in Abuja, General Nafiu instructed the scheme’s communication officers to strengthen their efforts in safeguarding the NYSC’s reputation. He emphasized that strategic communication must be “accurate, timely, credible, consistent and responsive” to effectively engage stakeholders and counter misinformation in a digital environment.

In a separate initiative, General Nafiu encouraged corps members to pursue opportunities in commodity marketing and agribusiness to build sustainable wealth. This follows the presentation of grants totaling N10 million to six winners of the ‘Farmers for the Future Programme.’ The program, organized by the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) in collaboration with the NYSC, selected the winners from nearly 3,000 applicants to support youth-led entrepreneurship and value-chain development.
