O Barco announces herald and poster for Festas do Cristo 2026

The organizers of the 2026 Festas do Cristo in O Barco have announced the herald and the official poster for the festivities. Argentine pediatrician Ricardo Marini, who has lived in the town for four decades, will deliver the proclamation. Marini, who moved to Spain in 1989 following political instability in Argentina, described O Barco as one of his two homes in the world.

The official festival poster was designed by Marisú Miranda, a designer originally from O Barco who has resided in the United States since 1989. Her design incorporates elements such as the Sil River and uses sky blue to represent the Galician flag. Miranda, who focuses on fashion illustration, noted that the poster aims to symbolize the balance between tradition and modernity through the use of denim to represent youth.

In addition to the poster, Miranda’s work will be featured in the ‘Xentes do Barco’ exhibition, scheduled to open at the Praza do Príncipe exhibition hall on September 10.
