O Grove begins preparations for Festa do Marisco

Preparations are underway for the 2026 Festa do Marisco in O Grove, scheduled to take place from October 1 to October 12. Installation of the large marquee, which serves as the central dining and performance area, has begun in the O Corgo port area. The event expects to accommodate approximately 250,000 people and serve nearly 150,000 seafood portions.

Mayor José Cacabelos Rico announced that due to a concerning shortage of products such as clams, velvet crabs, and shrimp, the festival will implement modest price increases. While the administration aims to keep the event affordable, some dishes may see price adjustments ranging from 30 to 50 cents, with a maximum increase of 1 euro, to ensure economic sustainability.

The festival's programming includes eleven days of free concerts featuring artists such as Ocean Colour Scene, Sés, and Dorian. Additionally, the event will host the Grovestock fair, the ‘XXXVIII Ciclo Cultivando o mar’ conference on marine resources, and various regattas and gastronomic activities.
