Los Realejos allocates over €500,000 for upgrades in eight public schools

The municipal governments of several Spanish towns announced public‑investment projects this summer. In Redondela (Galicia) the council awarded contracts worth more than €100,000 to asphalt and drainage works on four local roads in the parishes of Reboreda and Vilar. O Porriño launched a €150,000 tender to renew all horizontal road markings on municipal streets, using reflective and anti‑slip materials.

In the Canary Islands, the town of Los Realejos is spending a record‑high €500,000+ on reform, conditioning and accessibility upgrades at its eight public schools, including roof work at the secondary centre La Pared and drainage repairs at IES Cruz Santa. Elsewhere in the region, Elche will receive €884,000 to improve thermal comfort in 73 public schools, funding air‑conditioning, ventilation and shading installations. The nearby municipality of L'Alcora was granted €51,500 to similarly upgrade thermal conditions in its schools and a ceramics college.

Ferrol’s city council approved €45,000 in subsidies for five local sports clubs, supporting events and competition participation. In central Spain, the Community of Madrid renewed its partnership with the Fundación Iberdrola to continue restoration work at the Cathedral of Cuenca through 2028, building on previous restorations of several historic altarpieces.
