O Porriño launches €220k sanitation network upgrade in Trapa
The municipality of O Porriño has started a sanitation network expansion in the rural core of Trapa, part of the San Salvador de Budiño parish. The project, funded with a €220,430.31 grant from Line 1 of the Plan +Provincia of the Diputación de Pontevedra, will install 640 metres of new pipe along the main road, connecting twenty local houses to the municipal sewer system. It also includes a new culvert network for storm‑water drainage, replacement of a water‑supply line segment, and refurbishment of manhole covers.
In addition, the works will use the road opening to upgrade public lighting, replacing twelve old luminaires with 40 W low‑consumption LED units, and will resurface the entire affected road. Mayor Alejandro Lorenzo stressed that achieving integral sanitation is a top priority for the local government and announced a series of neighbourhood meetings in August and September to inform residents about the works.
