O Porriño secures ownership of N-120 highway section

The O Porriño City Council has secured the transfer of ownership for a section of the N-120 highway from the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda. The transferred segment spans just over two kilometers through the parish of Cans, specifically from kilometer point 651+200 at the Ponteareas border to kilometer point 653+400.

This administrative change allows the local government to directly address road safety deficiencies and improve infrastructure in an area with high traffic volumes. Planned improvements include the construction of sidewalks, the creation of pedestrian crossings, and enhanced public lighting. Additionally, the municipal control will facilitate the coordination of sanitation and sewage works.

Local authorities have already drafted projects for several areas. In A Graña and Sequeiras, the planned investment is 742,000 euros, while a project for Os Eidos is budgeted at 128,000 euros. Mayor Alejandro Lorenzo noted that the transfer enables action on a road that has long required these essential upgrades.
