O Porriño sees surge in weddings following fee removal

The municipality of O Porriño has seen a surge in wedding activity following the 2022 decision to abolish the 100-euro municipal fee for wedding officials. This recent trend was highlighted by eight civil ceremonies taking place over a single weekend.

Notable events during the weekend included a bride making a unique entrance via truck and a diamond wedding anniversary celebration for a couple, Amante and Isabel, who renewed their vows after 60 years of marriage. Mayor Alejandro Lorenzo officiated the ceremonies, noting the increasing frequency of such celebrations in the area.
