O Porriño to host free artificial intelligence training course

O Porriño will host a free introductory course titled “Pesquisa e Utilización de Dados Estatísticos com Intelixencia Artificial” (Research and Use of Statistical Data with Artificial Intelligence) this September. Organized by AECT Río Miño in collaboration with Seixas Invest, the five-hour training program focuses on the practical application of AI tools for accessing, processing, and analyzing regional statistical data.

The training sessions are divided between Spain and Portugal as part of a cross-border initiative. In O Porriño, sessions will be held on September 17 and 18 at the CIE in Polígono A Granxa, taught by Andrés Mazaira from the Universidade de Vigo. In Valença, sessions will take place on September 15 and 16 at the local library, led by Rui Pereira and Maria José Gonçalves from the Instituto Politécnico do Porto.

This initiative is part of the RED_GOV_MINHO (Cross-Border Miño River Governance Network) project. Mayor Alejandro Lorenzo stated that providing citizens, professionals, and businesses with AI tools is essential for boosting the competitiveness and development of the territory.
