O. R. M. E. requests Ministry intervention in Matese National Park

The association O. R. M. E. (Osservatorio Risorse & Monitoraggi Ecosistemici) has formally requested that the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) exercise substitute powers to address administrative inertia regarding the Matese National Park.

The request aims to resolve a deadlock involving the Provisional Management Committee of the Matese National Park, which has failed to provide mandatory opinions required for the environmental impact assessment (VIA) extension of the Campolattaro-Monte Alto (Lagospino) hydroelectric project. While the Ministry and the Campania Region have identified the Committee as the responsible body for managing specific protected sites, the Committee's President, Andrea Boggia, has publicly claimed he was never formally notified of the request.
