O2 Slovakia to merge with UPC Broadband Slovakia

O2 Slovakia is set to merge with UPC Broadband Slovakia on November 1, 2026, following an agreement with Liberty Global to acquire the company for approximately 95 million euros. As a result of the merger, UPC Broadband Slovakia will cease to exist as a separate legal entity, with O2 Slovakia assuming all rights and obligations.

For existing UPC customers, the transition is primarily administrative. While service prices, contract terms, and the UPC brand will remain unchanged for now, billing details will shift. Starting in November, invoices will be issued by O2 Slovakia, though service amounts and bank account numbers will remain the same. Customers paying via direct debit or standing order may not need to take action, but those paying via manual bank transfer should update the recipient name to O2 Slovakia, s. r. o.

This acquisition is part of Liberty Global’s ongoing exit from Central and Eastern Europe. While the UPC brand will continue to be used for internet and television services, O2 may eventually integrate UPC’s fixed internet services with its mobile offerings.
