O2 wins German mobile price-performance comparison

O2 has been named the winner in a price-performance comparison of German mobile network providers conducted by SMARTPHONE magazine. O2 received a grade of ‘Very good’ (86.62%), driven by competitive pricing in several categories, including unlimited tariffs, iPhone 18 Pro contracts, and SIM-only options.

While Telekom achieved the highest score for pure network performance with a grade of ‘Excellent’ (96.30%), it received a ‘Moderate’ score (69.94%) in the price-performance category due to higher costs for unlimited plans. Vodafone also received a ‘Moderate’ rating (65.10%) in the price-performance comparison.

The study evaluated four specific usage scenarios based on actual costs over a 24-month period, including connection fees and promotions. The network performance component was based on the magazine’s 2027 network test involving measurements across Germany.
