OAB-PR opens Espaço OAB Cidadania in Curitiba to support migrants

The OAB-PR has inaugurated the Espaço OAB Cidadania in Curitiba, establishing the city's first permanent center for free legal assistance dedicated to migrants and vulnerable citizens. The launch coincided with the ‘Dia da Cidadania + MigrAÇÃO’ event, which drew over a thousand participants seeking documentation and legal guidance.

In addition to legal counseling, the center provides essential services including medical consultations, blood pressure and glucose monitoring, and the issuance of identity cards (RG) in partnership with the Paraná Civil Police. The initiative aims to facilitate the regularization process for the state's significant migrant population, which includes over 129,000 international residents according to the International Migration Observatory (OBMigra).

The new facility is located in the Ahu neighborhood, adjacent to the OAB-PR headquarters. It complements recent state-level efforts, such as the creation of the Paraná Migrant Agency, to provide structured support for refugees, stateless persons, and returnees.
