OAB-SP annuls professional suspension of Deolane Bezerra
The 8th Recursal Chamber of the Brazilian Bar Association in São Paulo (OAB-SP) has unanimously annulled the professional suspension of lawyer and influencer Deolane Bezerra Santos. The decision overturns a measure imposed on June 24 by the Ethics and Discipline Tribunal, citing several irregularities in the process. The case has been returned to the original tribunal for regular processing to ensure the right to an adversary proceeding and full defense.
Despite the reinstatement of her professional rights, Bezerra remains in preventive detention at the Tupi Paulista Women's Penitentiary. She is currently a defendant in a criminal case involving allegations of money laundering and criminal association linked to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). Investigators allege she moved approximately R$ 13.6 million through accounts receiving fragmented deposits.
Separately, the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) denied a request for her release. Justice Ribeiro Dantas maintained the preventive custody, stating that despite favorable personal conditions, there were elements indicating a risk of criminal recidivism.
