OAB-SP sues legaltech Enter over AI sales to corporations

The São Paulo section of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-SP) has filed a civil public action against the legaltech startup Enter. The association seeks to restrict the company from selling its agentic artificial intelligence services directly to large corporations, requesting instead that its solutions be limited to law firms.

Enter provides technology that automates and manages legal processes, such as consumer litigation and labor disputes, by analyzing jurisprudence to suggest defense strategies. While the startup maintains that its drafts are necessarily reviewed and signed by lawyers, the OAB-SP argues that the technology is being used to replace legal professionals rather than support them.

The OAB-SP is also requesting that Enter be prohibited from linking its service contracts to specific legal outcomes, such as cost reductions or litigation wins. Enter, which recently achieved unicorn status with a $1.2 billion valuation, expressed surprise at the legal action, stating that its AI provides support to legal departments without replacing lawyers.
