Oak Harbor woman ordered to undergo competency evaluation in burglary case

A 40-year-old woman, Aisa Pitcher, will undergo a mental health evaluation to determine her competency to stand trial following a residential burglary in Oak Harbor. Pitcher was charged in Island County Superior Court after allegedly entering a home on August 4 and hiding in a bathroom while a resident was alone with a 5-year-old child.

According to court documents, Judge Carolyn Cliff signed the evaluation order after noting that Pitcher appeared to suffer from mental illness, affecting her comprehension, recall, and communication. The order also cited a recent history of delusional beliefs and magical thinking. Police reports indicate that officers discovered Pitcher in the bathroom surrounded by luggage after responding to a 911 call regarding an intruder.
