Oakland Athletics secure $70 million investment from Chan Ho Park and K‑pop star Suga
Investment group Team61 announced a $70 million commitment to the Oakland Athletics’ Las Vegas venture, with $55 million funded now and an additional $15 million contingent on Major League Baseball approval. The investor pool includes former MLB pitcher Chan Ho Park, who will become the first Korean‑born owner and serve as senior adviser to team owner John Fisher on player development and Asian initiatives, as well as BTS member Suga, actors Ken Jeong and Daniel Dae Kim, and other partners. Park said his role will help deepen ties between Korean baseball and the Athletics. The franchise is planning a move to a $2 billion domed stadium on the Las Vegas Strip slated for 2028 after completing its second of three transitional seasons. Earlier in the week, Harbinger Sports Partners also disclosed a stake acquisition, adding investors such as Mark Cuban and Atlanta Falcons minority owner Rashaun Williams.
