Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital begins major expansion

Construction has officially begun on a major expansion project at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Milton District Hospital, supported by a provincial investment exceeding $154 million. The project aims to increase acute care capacity to serve the growing population in the Halton region.

At Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, the renovations will add approximately 79,000 square feet of space and over 110 inpatient beds. The expansion involves activating purpose-built, unfinished space across three floors. Additionally, renovations at Milton District Hospital will provide 12 additional inpatient beds.

In total, the initiative will add up to 123 new acute care beds across the two facilities. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027 and is part of a broader $64 billion provincial health infrastructure plan intended to strengthen Ontario’s healthcare system.
